ACCOMMODATIONS: Lodge and camping options

Gombe National Park is famous for the Jane Goodall chimpanzee project. Although the chimps are this park’s primary attraction, there are many other primates, mammals and birdlife to see. No other park in Africa can offer such a magnificent chimp experience. Gombe National Park is the perfect choice for travelers who wish to experience remoteness and unspoiled nature.

 

ITINERARY

  • DAY 1: Take an early morning charter flight from Arusha to Kigoma. Lunch at the Kigoma Hilltop Hotel. In the afternoon we’ll take a trip to Ujiji and see the Livingston Memorial. Option to add a local fishing village tour. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camping site.

  • DAY 2: Early morning breakfast at the hotel. Depart for 2-hour dhow boat transfer to Gombe Stream National Park. Lunch at the lodge. Depart for afternoon chimpanzee trekking. Evening Sundowners dinner. Overnight at your lodge or camp.

  • DAY 3: Breakfast at the lodge. Depart for morning chimpanzee trekking. Return to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon at leisure at the Evening Sundowners. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.

  • DAY 4: Breakfast at the lodge followed by 2-hour transfer by dhow boat to Kigoma. Pick-up and transfer from Kigoma Hilltop Hotel to Kigoma Airport. Depart with charter flight from Kigoma to Arusha with packed lunch.

 

Program includes: Hotel/lodge/camp accommodations for the duration of the safari, private 4-wheel drive vehicle with a roof hatch. Professional English-speaking safari and tour guide/driver, all park entrance fees, all meals on the safari, water and hot drinks during the safari, camping equipment if applicable (tents, mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows, table and chairs), all game viewing activities.
