ITINERARY

  • DAY 1 - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Arrival (Includes Dinner): You’ll be welcomed at Tan Son Nhat airport by your private Vietnam tour guide and transferred to your hotel for check in. Ho Chi Minh, formerly Saigon, is Veitnam’s mecca of commerce and culture. In the afternoon, we’ll take a tour of the Reunification Palace, Vietnam War Museum and Ben Thanh market, as well as the city’s pagodas, museums, public buildings, parks and boulevards. Overnight Ho Chi Minh City.

  • DAY 2 - Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta (Includes Breakfast & Lunch): After breakfast, we’ll drive to My Tho, the quiet capital city of Tien Giang province, and the traditional gateway to the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, we’ll visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda, then take a private boat trip along the small canals of the Mekong River to see the daily life of the Mekong River people on both sides of the river. Then take a short tour by “xe loi” (motorized rickshaw) on the rural lane to the banks of the Mekong River to visit a rice farm, a coconut candy factory and a honeybee farm. We’ll continue our journey by sampan through the canals and mangrove forests to reach an island. Stroll in a fruit garden, taste the diverse seasonal fruits and tea mixed with honey, and enjoy a special folk show of traditional Mekong Delta music. In the afternoon, we’ll drive back to Ho Chi Minh.

  • DAY 3 - Fly to Hanoi, Vietnam (Includes Breakfast – Dinner): Upon arrival, you’ll be picked up and transferred to your hotel for check in. In the afternoon, enjoy a Vietnam’s capital city, Hanoi, on a tour to see the mausoleum of the nation's founder, the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature. Take a 1-hour cycle excursion through the bustling old quarter streets named after the specific goods once offered for sale there. In the evening, we end Hanoi city tour with a fantastic traditional water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi.

  • DAY 4 - Hanoi - Ha Long Bay – Hanoi (Includes Breakfast & Lunch): Our bus and guide will pick you up at your hotel at 8 AM. On the way to Halong city, you can enjoy the scenery of the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta, as well as the rice fields, water buffalo and village life. After lunch, we’ll take a for 4-hour cruise to visit the bay with stops at the Dau Go and Thien Cung Caves. On our return to the harbor, you can see the islands of Fighting Cock, Sea Dog, Tortoise, and Sail. You’ll also have the option of swimming in the bay. We’ll return to Hanoi around 10:30 pm. Overnight in Hanoi.

  • DAY 5 - Luang Prabang, Laos (Includes Breakfast – Dinner): This morning you will fly to Luang Prabang, where you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a half-day tour of the town’s highlights, including it’s many wats (monastery temples). In the late afternoon, we’ll climb up to the top of Mount Phousi and explore the sacred and gilded stupa as well as panoramic views of the city and the Mekong River at sunset. Dinner and stay overnight in Luang Prabang.

  • DAY 6 - Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Buddha Caves - Weaving Village (Includes Breakfast & Lunch) After breakfast, we’ll board a Mekong River boat trip to visit the sacred Pak Ou Buddha Caves. These caves, overlooking the confluence of the Mekong and Ou Rivers, have been home to many thousands of Buddha images placed here by local people since the 16th century when King Setthathirat found the caves and declared them a holy spot. Today, many still pay respect with this tradition. We’ll explore the caves before returning to the boat for lunch. Next we’ll visit the village of Ban Xang Khong where traditional Lao textiles are still on traditional wooden looms. Return to Luang Prabang to relax or explore on your own. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

  • DAY 7 - Traditional Lao rite of Almsgiving - Kuang Si Waterfall - Fly to Vientiane, Laos (Includes Breakfast – Dinner): This morning we’ll rise early at 5:30 am to watch and/or participate in the traditional Lao rite of Almsgiving to the monks. We’ll return to your hotel for breakfast, then drive by car to the Kuang Si waterfall. Here you can climb the stairs to the top of the falls for pictures. We’ll enjoy a local lunch and in the afternoon, return to the hotel for check-out. You’ll then be transferred to the airport for your flight to the Lao capital of Vientiane. Upon arrival, you will be taken to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

  • DAY 8 - Vientiane City Tour (Includes Breakfast & Lunch): After breakfast, enjoy a city tour to Wat Sisaket with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues. You will see the huge golden That Luang monument, and next door, Vientiane’s own Victory Monument which looks like the Arc de Triomphe, which was built at the end of the Indochina war. We’ll also visit Wat Simuang and Wat Prakeo, which was the original home of the famous Emerald Buddha that now resides in Bangkok. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant and then return to your hotel to spend the rest of your day at leisure. Overnight in Vientiane.

  • DAY 9 - Vientiane - Fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia - City Tour (Breakfast – Dinner): After breakfast, you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Arrive in Siem Reap and check into your hotel. Siem Reap is the base for exploring the fabled temples of Angkor, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire. We’ll start with a visit to the Roluos Group, including Preak Ko, Ba Kong and Lo Lei. In the afternoon, depart by Tuk Tuk to visit the 12th-century Angkor Wat. End your day with sunset at Phnom Bakheng. Overnight in Siem Reap.

  • DAY 10 - Siem Reap - Angkor Thom - Bayon Temple - Banteay Kdei - Ta Prohm Temple (Includes Breakfast & Lunch): This morning you have the option of another early start to catch the sunrise. After breakfast we’ll depart to visit Angkor Thom’s famous South Gate, where you can take an elephant ride to Bayon Temple. From the Bayon, continue on foot to the Baphuon, which recently re-opened to the public, and pass by the wooden Royal Palace. Continue to the Terrace of the Elephants. In the afternoon, continue to Srah Srang, Banteay Kdei, Chau Say Tevoda, Tommanon and the Ta Prohm Temple, embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. Overnight in Siem Reap.

  • DAY 11 - Siem Reap - Banteay Srei - Tonle Sap Lake (Includes Breakfast & Lunch): After breakfast, we’ll drive to Banteay Srei, Kbal Spean and Banteay Samre Temples. In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a boat ride on the Tonle Sap Lake. We’ll see a fishermen's "floating village" with floating schools, police station, etc. Overnight in Siem Reap.

  • DAY 12 - Siem Reap - Fly to Phnom Penh, Cambodia (Includes Breakfast): After breakfast, visit the Siem Reap market and/or the workshops of Artisans d’Angkor (wood and stone carving). Then transfer to the airport for your flight to the capital city of Phnom Penh. Check in hotel and relax. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

  • DAY 13 - Phnom Penh City Tour (Breakfast & Lunch): After breakfast, we’ll visit the Silver Pagoda, the Royal Palace and the National Museum. Later we’ll depart by car to visit Wat Phnom, followed by the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, the Russian Market and the infamous Choeung Ek ‘Killing Fields’. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

  • DAY 14 - Phnom Penh Depature (Includes Breakfast): After breakfast, you will be free to explore Phnom Penh at your leisure before the transfer to Phnom Penh Airport for your departure flight.
