ITINERARY

DAY 1: You’ll be met upon arrival at Tribhuban International Airport and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, explore Kathmandu’s Durbar Square and visit our office for a briefing of your trip if necessary. Enjoy your welcome dinner. Overnight at your hotel.

DAY 2: You’ll start at the World Heritage sites in Kathmandu. The Durbar Square holds the palaces of medieval kings who ruled the kingdom. Pashupatinath houses a sacred lingam, or the phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. The Aryaghat cremation area alongside the Pashupati temple or the banks of the Bagmati River are famous funeral site for Hindus. The Buddhist’s shrine of Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in the world, and one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage and tourist destinations in the city. The area of Boudhnath is famous for its more than 50 Tibetan monasteries. Overnight at your hotel.

DAY 3: After breakfast you’ll drive you to Nuwakot where you will have the opportunity to explore the village and interact with the locals in the evening. Nuwakot itself bears historic and cultural importance. Its sights include a seven-story palace and Bhjairabi temple. Prithvi Narayan Shah's unification campaign of Nepal began here. The town offers magnificent views of Langtang, Ganesh Himal and the wide range of land escapes and paddy field along with the rivers Tadi and Trishuli. Visitors can observe the most popular festivals like Bhairab Jatra and Gai Jatra take place every in April and August of the year. Overnight at your resort.

DAY 4: After breakfast you’ll drive to Chitwan National Park resort, visiting another temple on the way. You’ll arrive at the resort around 1 pm for a short briefing on today’s programs and facilities, followed by lunch. At 3:30 you’ll have the opportunity to take an elephant-back safari to explore the jungle and wildlife. During the 2-3 hour ride, you will likely see the one-horned rhino, monkeys, wild boars, bison, sloth bears, leopards, several types of deer, and if you are lucky, the Royal Bengal tiger. At 7 pm you’ll be invited to see a presentation about the history of Chitwan National Park. Dinner is at 8 pm in the central dining hall. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5: You’ll receive a 5:30 am wake-up call, followed by tea or coffee, then you’ll proceed for an early morning Canoeing and Jeep Safari. A traditional dug-out canoe takes you on a silent trip down the Rapti River to view aquatic birds and other animals on the river banks. Next you’ll hop in a Land Rover for another opportunity to spot rare wildlife. Breakfast is at 8:30 am, followed by an elephant briefing at the stables at 9:30 am. Lunch is at 1 pm, after which you'll have time to take a dip in the pool, relax on your veranda or on a hammock. At 4 pm take a nature walk through eastern Chitwan’s sal forest, grassland and riverine jungle. At 7 pm you can witness the Tharu Stick dance where farmers of the nearby villages will demonstrate their traditional skills and dances. Your participation is highly recommended. At 8 pm enjoy a barbecue dinner in the central dining hall or outside on the terrace. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 6: You have the option of another 5:30 am wake-up call for bird watching or another elephant ride, followed by an 8 am breakfast. Before we depart the park, you may visit the souvenir shop. At 9 am you will depart for the return journey to Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara hotel.

DAY 7: After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart for Kathmandu. The drive will take approximately 5 hours. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 8: After breakfast we will transport you to your hotel.
