Tibet is a land enriched by culture, tradition and steeped religion along the far-flung landscape, aptly named the Roof of the World. In fact, the valley bottoms of Tibet are higher than the tallest mountains anywhere outside of the Himalayan region. Lhasa, the capital, lies high in the arid wilderness of the Tibetan mountains.
