ITINERARY

DAY 1 - Ride to Mai Chau (Includes Lunch & Dinner): We’ll leave Hanoi around 8:30 am and ride our motorcycles west to Mai Chau, an area of beautiful landscape and home to the Thai ethnic minority. We’ll ride on road No. 6 - passing expansive rice paddies and scenic villages. We’ll have a stop for refreshment before tackling 44 miles of undulating road with great view of mountains and valley. After lunch on the way, we’ll continue to Pom Coong, a peaceful village of the White Thai ethnic minority where we’ll have dinner and spend our night in a traditional stilt-house of a Thai family.

DAY 2 - Ride up to Son La (Includes Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner): After breakfast at the homestay, we’ll embark on a beautiful ride up north to Son La. We may take frequent stops to visit minority villages of Hmong, Black Thai, or to take photos. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant en route. The highlight of our ride today could be the tea plantations in Moc Chau Plateau where you’ll find the best green tea in Vietnam grown along the roads on hillsides. We’ll reach to Son La in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Son La.

DAY 3 - Descend valley of Dien Bien Phu (Includes Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner): Today is a long and exciting ride on winding roads, long passes, stunning scenery and various minority groups. Lunch will be en route in local restaurant. The highlight of today ride is the impressive pass of Pha Din, which means Heaven-Earth. According to local legend, it was the frontier between Heaven and Earth. We’ll reach Dien to Bien Phu in the afternoon around 4 pm. Upon arrival, we'll ride around to explore the town. Dinner and overnight in Dien Bien Phu.

DAY 4 - Riding along Nam Na River to Tam Duong (Includes Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner): After breakfast, we’ll start our 140-mile ride along gorges and the Nam Na River. On the way, we’ll stop to visit Hmong and Dzao villages, and have lunch in Lai Chau. We'll reach Tam Duong around 4:30 pm. Dinner and overnight in Tam Duong.

DAY 5 - Ascend Sapa (Includes Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner): If today is Sunday, we’ll visit the Sunday market in Tam Duong, before riding the highest pass in Vietnam, the Tram Ton Pass. Lunch will be in a local restaurant en route. We’ll go to Sapa in the early afternoon. Sapa is the former hill station for the French colonists, and today is paradise for trekkers with its stunning terraces and the highest mountain in Indochina, Mt. Fansipan. Dinner and overnight at Sapa hotel.

DAY 6 - Trekking in Sapa – Night train to Hanoi (Includes Breakfast & Lunch): After breakfast in the hotel we’ll take a jeep ride downhill to Muong Hoa valley. Today we’ll trek on dirt path sthrough pine forest, terraces and Hmong villages. En route we stop to visit minority villages, schools and have a picnic lunch by the river. In the afternoon, we’ll walk to the pick-up point to take a jeep transfer back to Sapa. Private transfer to Lao Cai for the night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on the train.

DAY 7 - Arrive in Hanoi (Includes Breakfast): We’ll arrive in Hanoi in the early morning (about 5 am) for your final departure.
